Kiwi Can by Nevaeh

This term in Kiwi Can our topic is Integrity. Integrity is thinking about what you do when you do something when no one is looking. An example of this is owning up to what you did. What I found about integrity is that you have to be honest to everything you do.

Kiwi Can reflection by Nyjah

Yesterday at Kiwi Can we learnt about Negotiation and our new topic is Cooperation. Negotiation is kind of like having an argument because you are fighting over two or more ideas. I would negotiate if I was drawing with multiple people, because I am more used to drawing by myself and thinking of my own creative ideas. Although sometimes I can mix my idea with someone else and make a even better idea then before! The first game we played was to follow someone but you have to try stay under cover and then you have to guess who was following you... The next game was magic shoes. One person had to take another person to the other side and so that person has magic shoes and they have to go back and bring there team to the other side. Although you had to carry them across without getting them to touch the ground. My team was able to win!

Kiwi Can by Angela

This week we went to Kiwi can. Today we were learning about different tones of voices. What are the different tones of voices. There can be a happy, sad and angry tone of voice. Its important that the different tone of voice we give people do not a affect them in a bad way. When then did a recap of what we talked about last week. We talked about active listening what it is and where we can show it. Active listening means listening and we can show this in class or at home. When then played our Energizer called Fruit salad. What we needed to do was Mrs Paige gave each fruit an action and if you do the action right we stay standing if we do the wrong action we sit down. Then we did an activity which was called Negative and Positive role play. What we needed to do was act out a scenario that Mrs Paige gave us in a negative way and how we could change that in a positive way.

Here is the link to Angela's blogpost.

Kiwi Can by Christopher

Today  at Kiwi Can our lessen for today was risks we played a game called Hand soccer that had risks we also played a game called bib bob bounce. For Hand soccer the rules were not to hit the ball with your feet and try to get the ball into the goal. To play bib bob bounce you have to make a circle the person in the middle has to point to someone and say bib bob bounce if the person that he pointed to says bang the same time the person in the middle said bounce your safe. I thought it was hard not to wack the ground for hand soccer.

"I..." a poem by Jasmine

I am awesome and friendly
I wonder what I’ll be in the future
I see everyone thats's around me
I want a new phone
I hear people talking
I am strong and confident
I pretend that I'm a vampire at home
I feel happy
I touch my hair
I worry that I will never see my friends and family again
I cry when I’m sad
I am happy and excited
I understand my friends
I say that my brother is annoying
I dream that I’ll be the very best that I can be
I try to make the best of life
I hope that I make awesome friend when I grow up
I wait for nothing
I am courageous and weird

"I..." a poem by Evelyn

I am confident and honest
I wonder if  aliens and dragons are real
I see the people speaking positively everyday
I want to be able to conquer my fear
I hear my family and friends having a good time
I am positive and smart
I pretend to be a millionaire and an artist
I feel my feeling growing in my life and happiness around me.
I touch my feeling exploring
I worry about if I could be a new person I might change
I cry my until my tear run out with no love
I am a powerful person and a challenging person
I understand that somethings are difficult in people’s life
I say that one day my wish will come true, one day
I dream all my dreams are real
I try to forget the hard and painful moments
I hope that I can become a brave girl and have a perfect job. Also I hope that I have the right attitude
I wait for all this moments that I have spent with my friends with last forever

I am a mysterious person full of wonder.

Kiwi Can 2015

Our Kiwi Can lessons this term are focussing around positive relationships and active listening, both skills that will help us make the most of our learning time. Today Miss Latoia and Mr M introduced us to positive communication by showing us how the tone of our voices can change the way people hear what we are saying. We used role plays to help us understand what positive communication looks like.
