Fine, Samantha and Shantay collaborated to create this awesome i-movie that shows why learning maths at school is so important. They used comedy to get a very important message across. Great work girls!

This is a presentation based around sentences. The main sentences we focused on was Simple and Compound. We have explained what a simple and a compound sentence is in 2 separate slides. It also has a example to show you what they both mean.

Family Wedding Day: A Recount by Samantha

Hooray!!! A wedding! I got up and I was ready and prepared for the big special day. It was a fresh sunny day, so we headed out to go to the wedding and who knew it was on a farm in Albany. I had felt overwhelmed already as soon as we had gone up the driveway.

It was the time now for me and my family to head up to the wedding ceremony. I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was like I was in Dreamworld. Everything was set up perfectly. The food was prepared and on the tables. The decorations were really impressive. This was the perfect day for everyone to gather together for special celebration.

Up next was a performance by a group of kids from the East Cook Island Community Group. I was included into this event as well. I was scared and nervous to dance in front of my family and guests who had arrived, but I had hope and didn’t give up. It was very stressful dancing in this heat but I had represented myself and my group proudly with pride.

Now it had came to the time where all of the fun had come to an end. It was a fun day, and I had represented myself proudly as well as my family. It was a day that I will never forget because it was a day my family and I came together for a gathering of a special celebration.

Pentagon Group's 3D Challenge

 

Today's challenge was to create 3d shapes using the same polygon on each face. Once this had been completed, and the process photographed, the groups were asked to work collaboratively to create a presentation (of their choice) to share their learning. No instructions were given... just hints like the one that reminded the groups to record all the questions they asked each other. This is all their own work and was confidently presented to the class to show their understanding. Great work everyone!

8 phases of the Moon

  

Tui, Kapri, Shantay and Samantha went to room 7 and presented our presentation about the 8 phases of the moon. The feedback they got was outstanding because their comments were very thoughtful and about the learning. The feedback from Mrs Miller was good because she told this group how well they spoke to her and how confident they were speaking and presenting it to her classroom.

Asmah, Kapri, Samantha & Dontailan worked collaboratively together to create this paragraph using their research skills to help them understand some of our Topic words. I think they have done a great job!

The sun is the center of our Solar System. We live on the third planet away from the sun called Earth. Over time as the universe has been going through phases of change, scientists have sent astronauts on space rockets for the idea of space exploration expedition. Research shows, that we have eight planets in our galaxy and more than a billion stars. It takes twelve hours  for the Earth to orbit the sun on its axis, giving us daytime. Stars are luminous points in the night sky made of gas called hydrogen and helium which expand when gravitational energy compresses them. Did you know that when we join stars together it forms a shape in the sky called constellations? Have you ever been told that during daytime the suns rays scatters across the atmosphere causing us to have a blue sky. As the Earth orbits the sun on its axis, the moon is the satellite of the Earth. As the astronaut is up in space they use technology such as space probes to gather information about the environment around them, so scientists can use the information to get a better understanding of our aging universe.
