This is a collaborative poster that I have created with Jacob. We have included what 'hydration and dehydration' is, how water helps us and a 25 word summary explaining why it is vital to human survival. We have also used an image to give our audience a clearer understanding of our topic.

This is the DLO that Zahn, Jacob and I did. We made a popplet because it is very easy to use and showed our learning. The best part was we could all work on it.

Sharing Our Learning

June, Jane, Jasmine, Jacob, Mahdia and Jessie created this fabulous DLO to share some of this terms learning. Their focus was the Pioneer Maori Battalion. I was really impressed with the collaboration and thinking of this group.

Awesome Assembly Presenters!

Jacob and Jasmine were great presenters today at assembly. They were confident, knew their script and spoke clearly. Well done!

Heptagon Groups 3D Challenge

Today's challenge was to create 3d shapes using the same polygon on each face. Once this had been completed, and the process photographed, the groups were asked to work collaboratively to create a presentation (of their choice) to share their learning. No instructions were given... just hints like the one that reminded the groups to record all the questions they asked each other. This is all their own work and was confidently presented to the class to show their understanding. Great work everyone!

This is Jacob's information poster on the article 'Eye Spy'. It has information on galaxies, constellations, the moon and planets.  He created this using comic life.

We live in the universe that is built up of many galaxies. Many solar systems make up a galaxy. In our solar system there is a Sun that shines bright in the day, but you can’t see it at night because the Sun only shines at a specific time. Our planet orbits around the sun on a 365 day axis. The further the planet away from the Sun, the longer it takes to orbit around the sun. The Solar System has 8 planets all together. The Sun is a star. Stars are actually light years away from our planet. Most stars are bigger than the sun. A group of stars is called a constellation. When we can’t see the sun at night because one side of the Earth is facing the moon.The moon is like a satellite because it orbits in Earth’s atmosphere. Over the past few years technology has changed. People have been sending out space probes and satellites to study other planets and the different suns. Satellites give us a clear understanding of planets. Space probes need to be built for the different  gravities on the planets. Astronauts are space explorers that go to planets after space probes.

Room 9's challenge was to find the answers to each of the three set questions then explain their findings in 25 words. They have done a great job of finding the facts and putting them into their own words.

What is Pollination?

Pollination is a process which pollen is transferred from the anther to the stigma of the plant. Thereby  it makes it possible to Fertilization  and reproduction.

Explain in 25 words that the role bees have in a plant reproduction?

Bees help plants grow. Without bees we wouldn’t get chocolate, coffee, bread and most other foods that we have today.  They help us alot.

Explain in 25 words how plant reproduction processes produce much of our food.

The plants reproduces more so than  before, because the bees have helped it grow  by transferring pollen from one flower to the female flowers stigma.

Pollination is when Pollinators (Bees,Moths,Butterflies) get pollen from an anther(Male) and transfer the pollen into the stigma(Female).

Bees transfer pollen from a male flower into a female flower’s stigma.

If this process didn’t exist we wouldn’t have foods such as fries that are produced by potatoes which need plant reproduction to grow.

Pollinators (Bees etc.) collect pollen from plants and put pollen on other plants so they can grow. Without pollen there wouldn’t be plants and other things..

Bees fly to plants. They grab the pollen. Bees carry pollen to other plants. The pollen jumps on to the plant to help it grow.

Plant reproduction is creating more plants. More plants mean more fruits and more food that grow in the ground to eat.

Tech: Jewellery Making

This is one of the tech photos taken today. Mr Grundy (Sir), is teaching us how to make jewellery with pewter. First we needed measure some boxes. Then we drew some drafts of some designs to start. When we finish that we need to draw the picture onto a piece of wood.

This is an info poster that I have done on how to use Google draw. We used the text box, the fill-colour bucket and word art. I have used clip art and a tech image.

WW1 Presentation: Isaac and Jacob

Isaac and Jacob have done an amazing job of researching the conflict that happened during 

World War 1. This is their presentation that tells you how the conflict started, who was involved and how it was resolved.

Photoshop Work: Jacob

This is what I did on photoshop. We were learning how to create different layers using photoshop. Everyone made one of these and they might be on their blogs so check it out. I did this because we are learning about digital design. First I clicked on the magic wand tool and deleted the background of the two photos. Next I dropped a picture of a skate on a new document. I dragged and dropped both photos into a good position on the skate park.
